Announcing a 1-day No-limit Hold’em poker tournament with categorically no in-house or print advertising can prove to be a recipe for destruction, but that didn’t hold true for the Sacramento poker players. 2Pair Poker Tour is coming to Casino Royale Sacramento April 17-27, 2014 for our $100,000 series guarantee Sacramento Poker Open Series, but before we launched our opening event casino owner Jim Kouretas and 2Pair executive Roger Bailey thought it good to exercise a “Soft Opening” event for the local players and casino staff.
A 1-day $185 NLH Texas Hold’em tournament with a deep structure and 12,000 starting stack would give not only a heads up to the local player base for the Sacramento Poker Open series, it would allow for the newly renovated tournament staff and in-house operational team to experience a small portion of what daily execution would need to be during the 11 day 2Pair series.
Casino Royale gave all registered tournament players a free lunch, round of golf to Antelope Greens Executive Golf Course and a 2Pair Poker Tour Casino Royale hat. Players from all over the area came to take place in this soft opening tournament. Players drove from as much as 2.5 hours away to come play. We asked Jim Kouretas what he thought of the turnout. “This already is the biggest prize pool for a 1-day tournament that we have ever had here at Casino Royale since moving into our new location”.

With a total of 46 entries, we generated a prize pool of $7,139.
Here are the results.

1. Adam P $1,705
2. Steve K $1,587
3. Chris H $1,315
4. Ryan S $1,222
5. Gerald C $1,010
6. Dave P $300
